Sweet and creamy, made with or without an espresso shot, this Starbucks Vanilla Frappuccino Copycat will fill your mornings with pure joy.
Vanilla frappuccino tastes like a vanilla milkshake, but lighter to drink. It’s creamy, milky and with a delicious sugary vanilla taste.
Vanilla Frappuccino has no caffeine, being a kid-friendly drink. Its version with coffee is called Caffe Vanilla Frappuccino.

Ingredients
Vanilla Extract. Use a good-quality vanilla extract for a richer vanilla taste.
Milk. I prefer using whole milk to partially or skimmed milk when making this drink, but you can choose between any of the above.
Ice. It’s what gives the frappuccino its texture and thickness. You can make ice cubes from the milk you’re using.
Yogurt. I like to use a vanilla flavored Greek yogurt for this frappuccino. It makes it creamy and enhances the vanilla.
You can use sweetened or unsweetened, vanilla-flavored or plain Greek yogurt.
Whipped Cream. I use for topping the frappuccino.
Sugar. I prefer to use white sugar for this one, but you can substitute for brown sugar, maple syrup, honey or your favorite sweetener.
You can use vanilla sugar if that’s available where you live.
An espresso shot is an optional ingredient.
You can make this recipe with no caffeine in it. Using it transforms your frappuccino in a Caffe Vanilla Frappuccino.
How to make it
Whipped Cream:
If you’re using homemade, you can make it by hand or a mixer.
Make sure the heavy cream is extra cold. In a bowl, add heavy cream and vanilla extract. Whip in medium-high speed.
It will take 3 to 4 minutes until medium peaks are formed and your whipped cream is ready.
Starbucks Vanilla Frappuccino:
In a blender’s cup, add yogurt, milk, sugar, vanilla extract and ice, and blend for 1 minute or until well blended.
Top with remaining whipped cream. Serve it right away.
Starbucks Caffe Vanilla Frappuccino (if you’re using an espresso shot):
In a blender’s cup, add yogurt, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, espresso shot and ice, and blend for 30 seconds or until well blended.
Top with remaining whipped cream. Serve it right away.
Tips For a Starbucks-Like Frappuccino
- If you want it extra-milky, use milk ice! Instead of filling the ice trays with water, substitute it for milk.
- Don't wait too much to serve it, or the ice will start to melt and the drink will lose its thickness.
- If using an espresso shot, wait for it to get to room temperature before adding to the cool ingredients.
- You can substitute ice and yogurt for the same amount of your favorite vanilla ice-cream for a delicious milkshake!
