- 1 ¾ cup water
- ¼ cup lemon juice
- ¼ cup sugar
Stir together lemon juice, water and sugar. To make the sugar dissolve faster, microwave the water for 30-40 seconds or until warm (sugar dissolves more easily in warm water).
Pour the lemonade over the ice tray, filling it. Store in the freezer for 7 to 8 hours, or until frozen.
Fill a glass with lemonade ice cubes and pour your favorite lemonade over it, or place in an airtight container and store in the freezer for later.
Make it sugar free. You can use your favorite sweetener or omit the sugar completely.
Caramel notes. Make it using brown sugar, light for a milder caramel taste, and dark for stronger.
Mint twist. Add a mint leaf to each ice cube.
Using store-bought lemon juice. You can use any lemonade to make these ice cubes. I, however, prefer to make it with fresh lemon juice for the best taste.
Storing leftover ice cubes. To prevent any off-flavors, I store ice cubes into an airtight container. Wait for them to freeze, remove ice cubes from the tray and store in an airtight container or freezer-safe bag.
Using lime. You can make this recipe using lime juice instead of lemon juice.
