Matcha Frappuccino
Matcha Frappuccino is the ultimate drink for those who can’t get enough of that green goodness. This crème frappe is super simple to make, and has a secret trick that makes it creamier just like the ones you find at Starbucks.

- 2 cups ice cubes
- 1 cup whole milk
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoon sugar
- 2 teaspoon matcha powder
- ¼ teaspoon xanthan gum optional
- whipped cream optional
Add ice cubes, milk, sugar, matcha powder, vanilla extract and xanthan gum (if using) to the pitcher of a blender.
Blend it for 30 seconds, or until you have a smooth texture.
Pour in a tall glass, and top it with whipped cream.
You need a blender able to crush ice for this recipe to work.
For a creamier, smoother Frappuccino:
- Use xanthan gum;
- Use milk ice cubes rather than water ice cubes.
About matcha powder:
- Make sure you’re using 100% matcha powder, and not one with added sugar ando/or milk;
- A premium grade will give this drinks a less bitter taste.
