Lazy Man's Bread (No-Knead Bread)

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cup milk lukewarm
  • 4 tablespoon butter melted
  • 2 eggs large
  • 1 ½ teaspoon instant yeast
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, mix melted butter, lukewarm milk and eggs.
  • In a large bowl, combine all dry ingredients: instant yeast, brown sugar, whole wheat and all-purpose flour and salt. Add the wet mixture and mix with a spoon or spatula until dough is form and no dry spots of flour remain. It’s a very wet dough, so use a spoon or spatula: don’t try to mix it using your hands.
  • Let it rest for 1h30, covered with a damp kitchen towel or plastic wrap.
  • Line a 9x5' loaf pan with parchment paper or grease it with butter or cooking pray.
  • With the help of a spoon, or using your hands, place the dough into the pan.
  • Let it rest for 30 minutes on the loaf pan while you preheat your oven to 375°F.
  • Bake bread for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the top is golden.
  • Remove from baking pan, and wait at least 10 minutes to serve.

Notes

Use a loaf pan to bake this bread. The dough won’t sustain itself without it.
You can make it using only all-purpose flour. When I use AP flour only, I add 4 ¼ cups of it.
Preventing the bread from sinking: it's important to preheat the oven! Don’t skip this part, or you might get a bread sunken in the middle.
